"War Heroes"

I think too many outsiders see that when someone has served in the military in a time of war, they are automatically called "War Heroes". Fortunately, the standard is much tougher inside the military. A War Hero is someone who goes above and beyond the call of duty to protect his men, fellow soldiers, and country. It requires courage and bravery to do more than what is required, against many odds, risking one's life in imminent mortal danger . This is an elevated level of risk that is more than is required by fellow soldiers who also have to go to combat. Medals are awarded for such acts of bravery.

A POW on the other hand, is more of a victim's role, unless of course he orchestrated a prison escape, which is not the case here. Being a POW requires mental resolve and toughness, but not necessarily the same kind of courage or bravery. Does he have the courage to do what is right?
